Initial Ideas

Hit and Run Film

This film idea would start with the main protagonist adopting a standard daily regime (wakes up, washes face, brushes teeth, puts on clothes etc). He would then leave the house and walk past his car, reflecting on the night that he lost is license because of him being a huge amount over the limit of alcohol. This reflection would be shown as a flashback including fast cuts to show how the pace in which that offence happened and a narrated voice over the top of the cuts to inform the audience with what is happening. He then walks to the bus stop and get's onto the bus, the story then begins and produces a clearer flashback into the evening he lost his license.

We then further adapted this idea by adding a potential hit and run scene after the scenes suggested above. This incident reports that the main protagonists daughter/son has been involved in a road accident and have lost their life. The twist in the plot is that the man was the one that committed the hit and run and consequently killed their own child. (shown through more flashbacks). The ending of the film could potentially end with the main protagonist get into his car under the influence and getting pulled over, shown by flashing police lights in the rear and wing mirror. The film would start and end with the same scene. The film could alternatively start with him dreaming about the end scene but it ends up being reality.

Wedding Film

This idea was inspired from the Kid Ink music video "promise", which starts with the main protagonist on the phone to an unknown caller. When his girlfriend asks who he's talking to he claims that his conversation was related to 'business', to which she begins to suspect he's up to no good. The main protagonist then drives off in order to meet girl 1 but is caught by paparazzi with her. When he gets home, he finds out that the story has been leaked all over the news and his girlfriend is fuming at his actions - she therefore throws him out. The next day, the main protagonist is at a cafe with a different girl (2). They seem to be enjoying drinks together but are caught by two witnesses that turn out to be friends of his girlfriend - they capture them together using their phones. This image is then sent to the girlfriend whose anger has increased. She walks into the bedroom and find a wedding dress and shoes laid on the bed with a note saying 'put this on..', to which she smiles and puts it on. She runs outside and recognises girl 2 from the picture her friends sent (flashback of them at cafe), girl 2 pulls towards the wedding venue. She then see's girl 1 who is smiling at the girlfriend (a flashback shows this girl passing the main protagonist a wedding ring). She then begins to realise that he wasnt cheating and was in fact organising the wedding day.

Comedy Film: The Open Road

This idea brews upon the idea of a group of friends experiencing the open road for the first time with one of them obtaining a car. Much like the inbetweeners the cast use stupid lines, puns and characteristics for cheap laughs. The story could be built of this false imaginary journey that oversees the group (in front of a green screen for example) exploring the country / world but in actual fact they end up somewhere ridiculous such as the cinema or corner shop. Because of access to a car and gopro's, implementing car scenes into our media production is possible. We would also be able to easily retrieve cast of that age group (18 years old) by selecting members of Poole/Parkstone Grammar. An urban location would additionally be simple to film in with a lot of our local area being like this.

Comedy Film: Today

This idea is built upon the idea of following the life of a protagonist over one day which ends up being one of the worst days of his life. As a result, small comical factors of basic things could be added and first person could really be utilised with a story like this. The story could be based on character who lives a really simple, basic life that everyone can relate to. Little aspects of the day that everyone experiences add humour to the short film.
